CLIMATE CHANGE COLLABORATIVE (C3)
The C3 Projects Initiative
After nearly a quarter-century of establishing community-based, local environmental improvement projects, EECG endeavored to create an important global problem-solving context to their already successful funding and support strategy. The intention was to continue individual local problem-solving projects, but to create a unifying vision and goal for all the disparate projects, by enhancing international communication, cooperative learning, and collaborative idea-sharing and networking.
The vision was, and is, to develop a pathway leading to a global community of people linked together, and working toward a common purpose -- environmental conservation and sustainability.
In 2021, EECG and civil society organizations (CSOs) in Southeast Asia and Africa introduced the new strategy to mitigate and adapt to the climate change threats through local environmental problem-solving. EECG awarded these partners financial support to encourage action ideas on-the-ground. That collective effort of different conservation approaches all linked to a common larger problem is known the Climate Change Collaborative (C3).
A New Strategy....a Shared Vision
The project provided a platform for local communities living in Zanskar to become self-reliant and capable of finding solutions to challenges posed by climate change. The main project activity was organising a conference in which local villagers learned about the challenges posed by climate change and ways to adapt. The second main activity was the formation of a water management network consisting of 10 participants from the conference, along with subject matter experts who were then trained on identifying sites for building ice reservoirs.

Project: Developing Rural Renewable Energy

Satpuda Foundation will design and conduct an awareness campaign to promote renewable energy in Pench buffer villages and bring behavioral and attitudinal change among the local population.
The project will mobilize action at the grassroots level through community-centered education on climate change. Targeting vulnerable populations, the project will involve development of educational content, community workshops, hands-on training, climate science basics, impacts on local livelihoods, mitigation strategies, adaptation measures, and sustainabile practices. Collaborations with village chiefs, women groups, disabled leaders, local schools, community and religious leaders will ensure reach and relevance, aiming to "plant seeds of knowledge that will grow into a forest of climate-conscious decisions."
