EECG opens search for new Executive Director

Environmental Education Conservation Global (EECG) is launching a search for our next President to guide the mission of establishing environmental education as a premier global tool for conserving and enhancing Earth’s biodiversity.

EECG empowers local populations worldwide through professional training, social marketing, and innovative communication strategies. As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on dedicated, collaborative leadership to translate our global vision into tangible conservation impact. Please note: the President/CEO is an unpaid position on the board of directors.

As President, you will lead an international environmental education organization, steering global biodiversity initiatives alongside a dedicated, all-volunteer Board. This flexible, high-visibility leadership role offers the opportunity to shape our strategic vision, financial stewardship, and grant cycles while expanding your executive network across the environmental and nonprofit sectors. The President provides overall leadership, stewardship, and hands-on management for EECG. Working in close partnership with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, committee chairs, grantees, and financial partners, the President ensures that governance, finances, grantmaking, planning, and public outreach align with board-approved priorities.

Key position focus areas:

Governance & Leadership: Convening bi-annual board meetings, supporting committees, maintaining bylaws/policies, and fostering board engagement.

Financial Oversight & Compliance: Maintaining financial records, monthly reconciliations, quarterly/annual reporting, and Form 990 compliance.

Grant-Making & International Programs: Managing annual RFP cycles, administering cooperative agreements and wire disbursements, monitoring grantee progress, and supporting international course delivery.

Planning & Fundraising: Leading the Annual Work Plan process, developing grant proposals, cultivating donor relations, and coordinating external communications.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to environmental conservation, biodiversity, and education.

• Experience in nonprofit governance, committee leadership, and organizational planning.

• Proficiency with financial administration, and nonprofit compliance.

• Exceptional written/verbal communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, volunteer-led environment.

Time Commitment & Transition:

Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week on average (with seasonal peaks around board meetings, budgeting, and grant cycles).

Support: The outgoing President will lead a comprehensive onboarding process—including full access to digital archives, financial records, operational guides, and transition briefings—to ensure seamless continuity.
