Mission and Goals

To promote environmental education as a global tool of conserving and enhancing the Earth’s biological diversity, through a powerful blend of education and training, social marketing, and communication strategies.

To identify, train, and support practicing environmental educators and conservation professionals outside the U.S. in establishing skills and methods in educating their local populations and audiences.

To foster behavior change, which is crucial to the conservation of biological diversity, and must be viewed as a positive alternative by the local people involved.

To demonstrate and promote excellence in community-based conservation efforts that enhance the quality of life for those directly dependent on the planet’s biological bounty.

To promote the equitable sharing of benefits derived from the world’s natural resources.

EECG's Mission

EECG's Goals

Professional Development. Enhance and expand a global network of educators, resource managers, and other professionals concerned about environmental quality, thus creating more positive environmental attitudes and behaviors among their audience.

Problem-Solving Projects. Provide training to educators and others willing to work towards appropriate local and community-based behavior change—addressing those currently dealing with specific environmental problems as well as those who can help prevent them in the future.

Supplying resources and support to future educational leaders who have the potential to make significant contributions to positive environmental behavior in their countries; and,

Manage EECG and its activities in an ethical, efficient, and effective manner.
